Te Reo Time is designed to collect as little information as possible. The app does not require an account, does not sell personal data, and does not use advertising tracking.
Information used by the app
- Location: optional device location may be used to provide local weather-inspired widget scenes and sunrise/sunset timing.
- App settings: preferences such as colour theme, landscape style and widget options are stored on your device.
- Weather data: Te Reo Time uses Open-Meteo to retrieve lightweight weather information for ambience only.
What location is used for
Location is used only to support the widget experience. Weather is used to influence visual effects such as rain, cloud, mist or sunny scenes. Te Reo Time is not intended to provide safety-critical weather advice.
What we do not do
- No account is required.
- No advertising tracking is used.
- Personal information is not sold.
- Precise location is not used to build a user profile.
Third-party services
The app may contact Open-Meteo to retrieve weather and geocoding information. Open-Meteo does not require an API key for this use.
Data retention
Widget settings and cached weather snapshots are stored locally on the device and may be cleared by deleting the app.
